Altec Lansing VS2421 2.1 Music and Gaming Stereo Speaker System with Microphone (Black) Reviews
I love these speakers. They are very good quality for the price I paid. I listen to metal so these speakers have gone through alot of pounding but they are still like new. The bass is very deep for such a small sub and people sometimes wonder where the bass is coming from because they don't believe it can do that. Very loud and the bass is adjustable. The downside is that there is lots of interference with wireless signals coming from my phone and my router. Whenever I receive a message there's a loud noise that lasts for about a second. But oddly I find it useful because it alerts me that I'm getting a message. There is a constant noise that it receives from my wireless router that is a bunch of clicking. With a simple adjustment of the antenna I can get rid of the noise. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Great Choice - Arkadiyavich -
I looked through almost all of the 20-70$ 2.1 5.1 computer speaker systems for my dorm room. I heard alot of good things about creative labs and altec lansing, and had good history with altec lansing and terrible luck with logitech in the past. After comparing reviews on many models i finally went with this one and am very, very pleased with it. The sound quality is superb for such a small unit and the sub can really pump out some bass. It does have some feedback when no audio is being played but i turn it off or the volume down when nothing is being played, so its a non issue for me. Overall i give this stereo 5 stars.
Good, not great. Horrible interference - D. Smith - Boston, MA
Good speakers with very good sound. Just like the other reviews, I too experience the interference with anything electronic in any room. It is not just cell phones, which are the worst, but cordless phones, radios, and the TV screen when I use it as a monitor rather than a TV. It picks up interference from the router and switch on the other side of the wall, also. I know when my colleagues receive texts or calls, even though their phones are silent, since the speakers crackle and hum with the interference.br /These speakers are not shielded, and Altec Lansing's support has let me know this, yet still they continue to sell them non-shielded and have to be bothered with frustrated customers.br /br /The interference is extremely bothering, and I could no longer use these in my office setting. When the volume is low, there is an annoyingly high frequency that emanates from the speakers, not the bass. This annoys my dog, and I have to turn them off when he is here. I have found that to lessen this noise, I have to turn the speakers up, and thus turn everything else down (computers volume, the program volume, game volume, etc) so that the speakers are at 50%, and the high frequency is heard less.br /br /When there is a fuzz in the sound, which there generally is which is aside from the high frequency noise, it goes away when i put my hand near or on the controller/remote.br /The "remote" volume, headphone, mic extension is a good thing to have, since it doesn't require the user to have to reach to the speaker in order to adjust the volume, or connect headphones. The mic could be louder, and is virtually useless when it is sitting on the desk.br /br /Please Note: I did not buy this from Amazon. I purchased this from a local store.br /Bottom Line: I would not purchase this speaker system again, and wish that I could return it had I not discarded the packaging and lost the receipt. I have the VS4121 model at my house, and I should have spent the extra for another one for the office rather than trying to be cheap. Read the reviews of both products, and be forewarned of what you are buying.
